How Do You Spot Satan’s Attacks?

In his teaching, Dr. Stanley begins with a simple question that sets the tone for the entire lesson: "Who is the enemy?" He reminds listeners that many of the struggles we face—anger, bitterness, doubt—are not random but often the work of a deceptive adversary. By asking this question, he invites believers to look beyond surface problems and consider whether a hidden influence is shaping their thoughts and actions.

Standing Firm Against the Devil’s Tactics

Once the enemy is identified, the next step is to stand firm. Dr. Stanley emphasizes that standing firm is not about stubbornness but about refusing to give in, to compromise, or to engage in debate with Satan. He explains that a believer’s response should be rooted in trust and obedience, not in argument or self‑justification.

Equipping the Body for Battle

Dr. Stanley then turns to the practical aspects of Paul’s instruction in Ephesians 6. He outlines the pieces of armor that believers are called to wear:

  • Belt of Truth – knowing God’s promises and the truth about oneself.
  • Breastplate of Righteousness – living obediently before God.
  • Shoes of the Gospel of Peace – being rooted in the peace that surpasses understanding.
  • Shield of Faith – trusting God’s timing and power.
  • Helmet of Salvation – guarding the mind against false thinking.
  • Sword of the Spirit – the Word of God, used both defensively and offensively.
"Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth."

He concludes by urging listeners to put on each piece of armor daily, so that when Satan’s attacks come, they are prepared to resist and to claim victory in Christ.

For a deeper exploration of how to recognize and confront Satan’s tactics, listeners are encouraged to hear the full teaching.
